The American Rose Society is the oldest horticulture society in the United States.  Founded in 1892, it is 120 years old.  It is an educational, nonprofit organization that is comprised of 10 Regions and 18 Districts.  The New York District is part of Region 1 and is made up of 10 Local Societies:  The Capital Region Rose Society of NY, Greater Rochester Rose Society, Greater Toronto Rose Society, Long Island Rose Society, Manhattan Rose Society, Town of Newburgh Rose Club,  Southern Tier Rose Society, Southampton Rose Society, Southtowns Rose & Garden Society, Syracuse Rose Society, Western New York Rose Society
