The New York District Website is affiliated with the American Rose Society, the oldest horticulture society in the United States.  The ARS was founded in 1892. It is an educational, nonprofit organization that is comprised of 10 Regions and 18 Districts.  

The New York District is part of Region 1 and is made up of 9 Local Societies:  The Greater Rochester Rose Society, Greater Toronto Rose Society, Long Island Rose Society, Manhattan Rose Society, Town of Newburgh Rose ClubSouthampton Rose Society, Southtowns Rose & Garden Society, Syracuse Rose Society, Western New York Rose Society.
The New York District is rich with many talented members who willingly give of their time and resources.  If you already grow roses, we welcome you as an old friend.  If your are thinking about growing roses, we encourage you to join us and discover the joy of growing roses and the peace and solace of the rose garden.  You can find additional information on becoming a member of the American Rose Society and one of its local societies at www.rose.org
