"A Celebration of Roses at the Queens Botanical Garden "- Non-competitive
Members will be asked to bring in roses/rose collections, correctly labeled as to the variety. Roses will be on display for the public to view. Tickets will be sold to the public, for a nominal fee, for the privilege of judging “Best in Show”. All monies raised will be donated to the Garden.
Growing Roses From the Ground Up!! - Seminar on how to grow great roses. This seminar is for everyone interested in growing roses and will also qualify for ARS Consulting Rosarian Credit. Topics to be covered: Rose Diseases - Diagnosis & Control; Soil, Water & Fertilizers; Insect & Pest Control; Chemical Safety; CR Mission
9:00 – 11:00am – Growing Roses from the Ground Up! Seminar
11:00 – 12:00pm – Visit the Rose Garden
12:00 – 1:30pm – Boxed luncheon and District Council Meeting
2:00 – 4:00pm - Seminar resumes; Candidates for Consulting Rosarian designation will take the CR test at 4pm. (It is an open book test.)
