10:00-12:00 pm: Tour of the Native Plant Garden & the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden, led by Brian Sullivan, Vice President for Landscape, Outdoor Collections and Gardens, NYBG. Tram leaves from Ross Hall and transports guests to the Native Plant Garden, the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden, and back to the Visitor Center.

Mark Windham, Professor and Distinguished Chair of Ornamental Pathology, University of Tennessee
The Rose Rosette Virus has been identified as a significant and credible threat to the future of the rose. Professor Mark Windham has been actively studying diseases of landscape and nursery crops for the past three decades, including his current research into the management of RRV, funded in part by the American Rose Society. In this timely lecture, Professor Windham discusses the results of this research, and how we can best manage this problem in our own gardens. A past President of the Holston Rose Society who has been growing roses for more than 25 years, he has authored some 200 publications, released six dogwood cultivars, and holds six patents.

Danielle Hahn
Ms. Hahn is the owner of Rose Story Farms in Carpinteria, CA, a boutique rose farm for cut roses. She is being honored for her dedication to promoting the rose through Rose Story Farms-growing roses, educating the public on roses and her efforts to revitalize the use of roses in the landscape throughout the country, recognizing the importance of regionality for a successful growing experience. She is a member of the American Rose Society and is involved with the preservation of old roses, actively promoting them through the selections grown at Rose Story Farms. Her lecture will focus on these efforts.
